If you're experiencing symptoms like leakage, pelvic heaviness, abdominal separation, coning, constipation, pelvic/hip/low back pain, radiating pain in the vulva, pain with penetration, sexual dysfunction, or are pregnant or postpartum, this service could be beneficial for you. Our PFPT assessment includes a comprehensive movement analysis, external and internal exams (if necessary), and a review of your daily habits. Note: While internal exams can provide valuable insights, they are not always required. Don't let the fear of an internal exam prevent you from getting the help you deserve!
Before your appointment, you’ll receive intake forms to gather details about your health history, reason for visit, symptoms, and goals. Wear comfortable, movable clothing (like workout attire). Your session will begin with an interview to review the forms in detail—perfect for elaborating on any specifics. Next, we’ll conduct a full movement analysis, assessing your overall range of motion, strength, and movement patterns. If appropriate and with your consent, we’ll proceed to an external and internal exam to evaluate pelvic floor muscle strength, tone, tissue mobility, and coordination. You’ll leave with personalized homework to continue at home until your next visit. Our goal is for you to feel informed, confident, and empowered with a clear plan moving forward.
We can start as early as two weeks postpartum, either in person or virtually. We recommend scheduling your appointment before delivery, so you won’t have to worry about it during those busy first weeks.
Whether life gets busy, the unexpected happens, or distance is a challenge, we can bring PFPT to you virtually. With expert guidance from our therapists, you can still achieve meaningful progress from the comfort of your home.
Sessions are one-on-one for 60 minutes. Frequency depends on your condition and goals, but we typically see clients once a week to promote independence with a personalized home exercise program.
Absolutely! Throughout your pregnancy, there’s plenty to focus on while maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle. We can help manage any aches and pains that arise and support you in preparing for both birth and postpartum recovery. Be sure to ask about our Birth Prep Bundle!
No, you don’t need a doctor’s referral to start PFPT. Thanks to direct access, you can begin addressing your concerns right away. If any red flags or concerns arise during your sessions, we’ll recommend a referral for further evaluation.
Pelvic floor dysfunction isn’t always caused by weakness, and most people perform Kegels incorrectly. That’s why a thorough evaluation, one-on-one guidance, and a personalized program are key to achieving your goals more effectively.
We strive for more than just "good enough." PFPT is about more than addressing the dysfunction you arrive with—it’s about educating and empowering you to live the life you love. We’re honored to be your coach, therapist, and friend throughout your journey.
Yes, menstruation does not interfere with treatment and can often help relieve period-related discomfort. If you’re uncomfortable with internal treatment during this time, please feel free to discuss it with your provider.
"I have loved my experience at Uplift and 100% recommend it! Dr. Lauren has been so helpful through the middle of my pregnancy and postpartum. She helped me get prepared for labor and I attribute my smooth labor and delivery to all the exercises she taught me! I really like that this practice is more holistic. She evaluates your lifestyle and how you move your body on a daily basis and how everything is tied together to promote healing. She makes you feel comfortable at each visit. Love her!"

"Working with Lauren dramatically improved my c-section and general postpartum recovery. She even helped me with other aches and pains, and has a really wide span of knowledge for the practical recovery questions. I never heard a dismissive “that’s normal” to anything I said, and she consistently followed up on any remark I made, no matter how small."

"Dr Lauren is absolutely amazing! She helped me so much during pregnancy and helped prepare for delivery with second child. Seeing her postpartum has helped with so many things I’ve had going on. I wish I would have had her with my first pregnancy/postpartum. I can’t recommend her enough to anyone looking for a pelvic floor therapist for any reason and tell everyone I know about her!"
